Opportunities that Tanzanian graduates should consider

Image
"try everything, specify later" Photo by  Baim Hanif  on  Unsplash It’s true that after a minimum of 16 years studying you deserve a job before last exams’ results and that was the case in those days if I listen to my uncle’s story properly. Applications were manual but you could just make two, get all, and pick one that suits better or get one or get the post without applying. Today you can make hundreds of application online only to receive two automatic replies for not being considered. Should we wait for jobs like our uncles, do we have the skills to get jobs today, are we good communicators and confident as we indicate to our CVs? Things have changed and so should we. “Who do you know” and “are you experienced” should no longer considered as challenges but opportunities. We should disrupt the approach to job search, we make them come to us rather than waiting for adverts, know the employers and make them think of you when they need someone, develop ...

Unahitaji taarifa, hata za uongo kufanya maamuzi

Image

"Kudadeki" “Nyota njema huonekana asubuhi” na nilishaanza kuhisi leo nimeziona mbili. Nilipoamka tu nikainama nikachukua simu yangu chini, nikataka niende kwenye mitandao ya kijamii, nikagusa Whatsapp nikakuta hakuna kipya nikakumbuka sina bando. Nikakurupuka ...
